Nerja in focus
Nerja is a white-washed, bustling, fascinating Spanish town. There is always a new restaurant or tapas bar to find at the end of a cobbled street that you haven’t discovered before. Much of the towns’ daily relaxation revolves around the pretty church square, where a walk along the elegant Balcon De Europa is a ‘must’. Horse drawn carriages are always waiting to transport you, should you be feeling less energetic.
The drive from Malaga airport takes no longer than 40 mins now it has been linked via Autovia.
Nerja is also famous for its Cuevas, which are just off the N340. The cavern was hollowed out by water 5 million years ago and the stalactites, stalagmites and impressive rock formations are a sight to behold. You feel transported to the very belly of the Earth.
There are many golf courses to play at nearby and for those more active guests it is also possible to drive to Sierra Nevada and ski at the right time of year. You can also visit Granada at the same time and enjoy the splendour of the Alhambra Palace.
